Young Choi | President

Young Choi is a trial attorney at the U.S. Department of Justice, Civil Rights Division. Previously, she clerked in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas. Young earned her J.D. from Columbia Law School and her B.A. from Georgetown University. She is serving in her personal capacity.

 
 

Kenny Mok | Vice President

Kenny Mok is a judicial law clerk at the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland. He previously worked at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP as an antitrust associate. Kenny earned his J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School and his B.A. from Northwestern University.



 

Zimu Yang | Secretary

Zimu Yang is a Corporate Counsel at Amazon.  He supports the company's Project Kuiper, an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of satellites in low Earth orbit.  Zimu earned his J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School.


 
 

Serena Tang | Communications Director

Serena Tang is a trial attorney at the Federal Maritime Commission. Her work focuses on enforcing the Shipping Act and protecting American consumers from unfair and deceptive shipping practices. Previously, she clerked at the Court of International Trade in Manhattan and the Sitka Trial Court in Alaska. Serena earned her J.D. from Vermont Law School and her B.A. from American University. She is serving in her personal capacity.

 
 

Danli Lan | Treasurer

Danli Lan is a Corporate and Finance associate at Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, LLP. Danli’s practice involves complex domestic and cross-border transactions covering mergers and acquisitions, public and private capital markets involving equity and debt, joint ventures, and private equity. While in law school, Danli served as a judicial intern to the Honorable John A. Gibney Jr. of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia. Danli earned her JD from American University Washington College of Law and her bachelor’s degree from Agnes Scott College.

 
 

Gahee Lee | Director

Gahee Lee serves as Corporate Counsel at MongoDB, Inc. where she advises on a wide range of securities, corporate and M&A matters. She previously worked at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati PC and Milbank LLP as a capital markets associate. Gahee obtained her law degree from Columbia Law School and her undergraduate degree in Chinese and International Studies from Emory University. Gahee is serving in her personal capacity.

 
 

Randy Chen | Director

Randy is the Assistant Chief of the Workers’ Rights & Antifraud Section at the DC Office of the Attorney General. His work focuses on advancing workers’ rights in the District through civil enforcement of the District’s wage-and-hour laws. Prior to being a lawyer, Randy was a public school teacher in Prince George’s County, MD. Randy obtained his law degree from Harvard Law School and his undergraduate degree from Duke University.

 
 

Chrysalis Borja | Director

Chrysalis Borja serves as in-house counsel for GEICO where she advises on a variety of Employment Law, ERISA, tax, and healthcare matters. Prior to becoming an attorney, she was a frontline healthcare worker. Chrysalis obtained her law degree from the University of the District of Columbia – David A. Clarke School of Law, and her MBA and B.S. in Physiology and Neurobiology from the University of Maryland. Chrysalis is serving in her personal capacity.

 
 

Robbin Lee | Director

Robbin is a Trial Attorney at the U.S. Department of Justice, Civil Fraud Section. Before joining the DOJ, he was a Senior Associate at Arnold & Porter and clerked for a federal judge. He was also an active duty Judge Advocate (JAG) in the United States Navy for six years, continues to serve as a Lieutenant Commander in the U.S. Navy Reserve, and always happy to speak with law students interested in pursuing careers in public service.

He is serving in his personal capacity, and his service on the Board is not an endorsement of AEF by the Department of Justice or Department of the Navy.
